Notion AI's main advantage is that it's already where your work is. If you're a Notion user, the AI assistant overlaps almost entirely with how you already write, organize, and summarize information. The Business plan is required for the full feature set, which includes Notion Agent for multi-step tasks, AI Meeting Notes, and cross-app enterprise search. At $20/user/month that's a real commitment, but for teams that live in Notion, it removes the need for a separate meeting transcription tool.
The writing assistance is solid but not exceptional compared to dedicated writing tools. Where Notion AI actually earns its keep is in knowledge retrieval: asking a question and getting an answer grounded in your team's actual Notion pages is genuinely useful, especially as wikis grow and become hard to navigate manually. The standalone $10 AI add-on for Plus users was retired in May 2025, so new users need to be aware that full AI access requires the Business tier.
